Set up of Marketing
Board/Market Committee
The
powers of the Board of Chandigarh State Agricultural marketing Board
is conferred with the Administration of Union Territory, Chandigarh,
which is further delegated to the Deputy Commissioner-cum-
Sectretary, State Agricultural Marketing Board, U.T.,Chandigarh by
the Chandigarh Administration vide notification no. 4208 UI FII-(XI)71.

The Secretary State Agricultural Marketing Board is assisted by
Joint Secretary of the Board. |

Office of the Secretary, State Agricultural Marketing Bard is
situated in Deputy Commissioner Office Sector-17, Chandigarh.
|
|
|
Market Committee consists of ten members. Nine are elected
members and one is official member nominated by the State
Government. Five are agricultural producer members, two shall be
from among such persons licensed under section 10 of PAPM Act,
one member is from licensees under section 13
of PAPM Act and one member is from Co-operative Societies of Chandigarh. |

|
Chairman, Market Committee is elected by the elected members of
the Committee. |
|
|
The term of Committee is three years.
|
|
|
Office Chairman and Secretary, Market Committee is situated in
Grain Market Sector-26, Chandigarh.
|
|
|
The Secretary of the Committee is appointed by the Secretary,
Sate Agricultural Marketing Board, UT, Chandigarh. He is an
employee of the Board and lent to the Committee on certain terms
and conditions decided by the Secretary of the Board. |

Constitution of Market Committee
Market Committee Chandigarh has been constituted under section-12 of
Punjab Agriculture Produce market Act-1961.
Market Committee is headed by its Chairman, with Secretary, Market
Committee as its Executive Officers lent by the marketing Board to
Market Committee.

members are elected by the panches/Sarpanches of the U.T.
Villages, Panchayats amongst the producer of U.T. Chandigarh
|

Two
members are elected by the Licensees U/S 10 of PAPM Act, 1961
among the licensees U/S 10. |

One
member is elected by the Licensees U/S 13 of PAPM Act, 1961
among the licensees U/S 13. |

4. |
One
member is elected by the Share Holders of the Mani Majra
Co-operative Society amongst them. |

One
official member is notified by the Chandigarh Administration. |
